Intrigue, treason, battles and Bordeaux wine mix as Simon de Montfort conquers Gascony then holds England’s dukedom for ransom.

In 1244 the Holy Land is overrun by barbarians. Simon must return to the East – but King Henry demands he first crush England’s rebellious subjects in Gascony. Taking castles, imprisoning rebel lords, Simon seems successful – until the rebels conspire against him and King Henry sees the chance to condemn him for treason. The lords at his trial protest. Henry must free him, but sends a Gascon army against him alone.

The year is 1258. When King Henry III jeopardizes the Crown of England, the lords rebel. At Oxford they create the constitution for the first government controlled by the lords and common people: Parliament.

But when the lords are poisoned, Montfort alone is left to make democracy a reality. In his ow name, he summons the first Parliament. Then, stealing the King’s own army, he defends Parliament against King Henry, committing the ultimate treason.

The Belgian National Treasure is hidden in a convent – the Nazis are ordered to find it.

Denise, 16, plans to be a nightclub singer – or a dancer – until the Nazis invade her home on a French beach resort. She flees to an ancient convent in the Pyrenees, to become Sister Placide – just as the Prioress agrees to hide the Belgian National Treasure, and the convent’s patron gives away her fortune to join the nuns in their poverty and the SS set up their R&R center in the convent garden.

But the fairy’s world is not all riding dragonflies and having Vision. Fear, envy and rage become terrifying adversaries, the demons within, that the children must first overcome.
